Q&A with Ashley

Ashley is a fellow fashionista from my area. We have similar interests and mutual friends, and she is also starting up her own blog (picture linked below). Ash is not only into fashion, but photography as well… I can’t wait to collab with her this upcoming winter, and to see what theme and location she chooses for us! We came together to ask each other a few questions our readers may be interested to know. Here’s what she came up with:

What’s a staple piece in your closet?

For this season, definitely my Gypsy Warrior’s cropped leather jacket. I love leather, and the cropped design accentuates my waist while giving definition to my layers.

What is your fave collection from Spring 2016’s Ready-to-Wear?

It’s so hard for me to pick a favorite. Balenciaga was all-white with romantic fabrics. Love. Givenchy always does it for me. Balmain was neutral and beachy and fun! I loved the camel leather in Ralph (Lauren). Vera opened with a simple, all-black coordinate and jacket with bomb shoes. I also loved the footwear in Kanye West’s YS2!

Favorite fashion bloggers?

I honestly find it hard for me to keep up with specific bloggers because my style different from day-to-day. I mostly enjoy Instagram fashionistas because I am able to scroll down my feed and see a little bit of everything. My fav fashion-related Insta is @ogfashionsense because they repost pictures from real people. If you like that persons style, click their tag!

Combat boots vs. Doc Martens… Thoughts?

I have about a million pairs of combat boots, and only one pair of Doc Martens. I used to wear combats with damn-near every outfit for years, but I have definitely grown out of that. I received my Doc Martens from Santa and only wore them once, but not because I don’t like them! I love seeing males and females rocking Doc Martens in eccentric ways. So if I had to choose, combats… heeled combats. These days I prefer a pair of sleek suede, over-the-knee boots with a block heel.

Any boutiques you like in your area?

I love the look and idea of boutiques, but there aren’t any in my area that stick out to me. I prefer thrift shops! My mother does love Best Friends boutique in downtown Phoenixville.

Which celebrity do you relate to the most, in regards to fashion sense?

Kylie Jenner. I swear we go through the same clothing phases from destroyed tees, vintage denim and combats, to sexy, chic coordinates. I would have a field day with her closet.

What countries inspired your wardrobe the most?

With social media these days, the world is flat. There are so many different styles modified by the world, so at this point, I don’t even know where these styles originate! While I studied in Rome, Italy during a spring semester, I was definitely temporarily influenced by the Italians. I was wearing nothing but black for weeks straight LOL.

What are your career goals for the fashion industry?

I am currently an International Business major with a Finance concentration, and a hobby of fashion. I am still configuring ideas for how I will incorporate my major and my love of fashion. Down the road, I would love to design intimates! Until then, I would love to work in corporate for one of my favorite brands, work behind-the-scenes with Vogue, or style celebs #careergoals

How do you feel about the H&M x Balmain collaboration?

I love the idea of high-fashion mixed with affordable fast-fashion brands! The pieces may not be affordable to the typical H&M buyer, but the pieces have so much similarity to the runway for a fraction of the price.

What is one fashion trend you want to come back ASAP?

Girls rocking jerseys. Bra tops with low-rise denim and huge bomber jackets. 90’s baby.
