Summer is here and the weather is hot! You may feel like wearing little-to-nothing, or feel like your style creativity is at a standstill. I refuse to settle for a pair of high-waisted shorts and a cropped tank that has me blending with the crowd, so instead, I opt for an airy, bohemian look. There are so many ways to style your boho look, but here’s a good start!
Bloom Hair Pin Set by Rock n Rose, $25
Headpiece from NastyGal.com, $25
Fringe Jacket by Essentiel, $498
Lovely Lace Flares by Raga, $118
Wooden Platforms by Jeffrey Campbell, $150
Santana Sandals by Jeffrey Campbell, $190
I love hair accessories in any season, but summer hair pieces are my favorite! Flower clips, flower crows, and especially headpieces. Place several flowers throughout your loosely braided hair (like pictured above), or twist your hair back, fastened with a single statement flower in back. If you rather work with loose curls, tuck a flower in your ear! I’d recommend when choosing to wear a headpiece to make sure that is the statement piece of your outfit. Too much detail combination can be distracting and chaotic. Headpieces give me Bollywood meets Greek Goddess meets desert queen, I love!
It’s pretty obvious that I love fringe. I own about four fringed handbags, my backpack is fringed, fringe skirts, fringe dresses, fringe tops… You get the point! My next pick-up will be a fringed leather jacket. The suede fringe jacket pictured is ideal, but since my budget doesn’t allow it at the moment, I will continue to be choosey until I find the perfect one! I love this piece because it easily gives a western feel to a simple outfit. I’m picturing a daisy flower choker necklace, a loose-fitted tank, fringed jacket, denim flares, and open-toe booties for a casual boho appeal.
Lace and crochet scream boho! I tend to be very picky about my lace and crochet designs, but when I find something I like, I buy it and love it. Pair your lace flares with a halter top and simple sandals with round sunnies and wavy hair… you are so cute! Style a neutral crochet crop top, layered with a lace bralette, solid knit bells and a silver concho belt with these Jeffrey Campbell clogs.
Boho does not stop at flares and crochet. Palazzo pants are everywhere and with something as simple as a white tank and with the right accessories, you can pull together an effortless airy ensemble.
